   EVERY SPRING the city of Denton (near Dallas, TX) is host to one of the most talked-about Storytelling Festivals in the U.S.
   Under large circus tents, audience members are treated to legends and tall tales, fairy tales, bilingual stories, spine-tingling
   ghost stories and toe-tapping music.  Join in the fun for one of the best in storytelling events.  If you missed it this year.  Put it

"The Storytelling Capital of Texas" comes to life on the first Saturday in November when tellers of tall tales, folklore, history, fables and some downright lies gather around the Live Oak County Courthouse Square to spin their yarns.  With live oak trees for canopies and hay bales for seats, thousands of listeners enjoy this time-honored tradition and performing art.  SOS member, Pam McGrath, was a featured teller at the George West Annual 2000 Festival.

A Tiger's Tale- Houston, Texas,

James Ford, winner of the the year 2000 recipient of the John Henry Faulk award, is a writer/storyteller who blends both pathos and humor into his personal history and family stories. James equally loves to tell his originally written tall tales.  He began producing this concert in 1994. It offers storytelling to children and adults, the hearing impaired and both beginning storytellers and advanced storytellers. The event offers educational workshops and musical component. A Tiger's Tale offers the storytelling of national, regional and local storytellers.
